Rule of Life
The Second Vatican Council promoted the renewal of religious life and asked the religious Institutes to revise their Constitutions. In conformity with those decrees of the Council, and other ecclesiastical documents, the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament revised the Constitutions, and presented the current Rule of Life to the Holy See for approbation.
The Congregation for Religious and Secular Institutes, the curial office in the Vatican responsible for religious institutes, approved the Rule of Life on August 1, 1984, the anniversary of the death of Saint Peter Julian Eymard.
Highlighted below are some of the important sections of the Rule so that you may discover this rich spiritual text that helps the Blessed Sacrament Religious be authentic witnesses to the renewing power of the Eucharist for Church and society.
