The Eymardian Family gathered at different times together during the International Eucharistic Congress. Mona Grigsby-Suarez, Co-director of the Center for Eucharistic Evangelizing, Fathers Jaime Reyes, SSS and John Thomas Lane, SSS, Provincial from the United States, joined with the Brazilian and Argentinian SSS representatives (lay and priests). Later in the day, we joined together in the evening with the Peruvian & Columbian SSS Family members. The photo to the left is in front of the Basilica of the National Vow (to the Sacred Heart of Jesus).
On a brief tour, we went to the famous Marian statue in Quito, highest in the world. For fifty-three years, Our Lady of Panacillo has guarded the city of Quito, holding back the chains of evil.
A family (Gross from Italy) shares how they felt called to move from Italy to share lives in Ecuador, committing their lives to living the Eucharist with those who live in the rural areas of Ecuador. The children, too, live in a barrio with their parents, who organize through NGO’s to build furniture (as seen behind them and used during the Congress).
