The Psalmist David blesses the Lord with all his being and all his soul and then goes into detail about why he is blessing God. He states it is because of the Lord’s kindness to humankind and mercy to us.
He states that the Lord forgives all our sins. If we are physically healed, it is the Lord who is to be praised and worshipped. He goes on to state that God is kind and compassionate and redeems our life from hell. He states that God does not pay us back equally for our sins and does not keep his wrath forever.
The Lord’s kindness toward those who fear him surpasses as high as the heavens above the earth. No matter how much our moms and Dads love us or our spouse or our best friend, nothing can compare with the love, compassion, mercy, and kindness that the Lord shows us. All glory, honor, and praise are to be given to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
