Today’s Eucharistic reflection focuses on the Gospel Acclamation. Please take a moment to read it slowly a few times.
God loves us, sent his Son, Jesus, to die on a cross for us to be saved from hell and saved for heaven. We, as sinful humans, do not deserve to be saved, but God offers us salvation anyway. In the Gospel of John, the word believe is used over 60 times. This word is equated with our action, our acceptance of Jesus’s sacrifice—a free gift to us to be received.
Our response to our Lord’s gift of salvation is to lead a holy life; a life set apart from the rest of the world. You might be new to these Daily Eucharistic Reflections or new to the faith. Accept Christ’s sacrifice by asking him to be Lord of your life. Go to church, go to confession, get baptized, read your Bible, receive the sacraments, and choose your circle of friends wisely.
It is the best decision you will ever make. It is the only one with eternal consequences.
“May Jesus be adored, loved, and served; the rest is nothing.” (Taken from A Year with Fr. Eymard by Fr. Erasto Fernandez SSS)
Let Us Pray:
Dear heavenly Father, please draw our hearts and our loved ones’ hearts nearer to your Son Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
