Daily Eucharistic Reflections

April 24, 2026

Today’s readings invite us into a profound mystery: our life is no longer separate from Christ’s life. We are bound to him in an intimacy so real that he takes our part as his own.

When Saul encounters Jesus on the road to Damascus, the Lord does not ask, “Why are you persecuting my followers?” He asks, “Why are you persecuting me?” In that moment, Saul learns that Christ is not distant or removed. Jesus lives in his people. What is done to them is done to him. Saul believed Jesus was gone, yet Christ reveals that he remains present—suffering, acting, and loving through his Body. This is not symbolism. It is communion.

This same intimacy is revealed even more clearly in the Gospel. Jesus says, “Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood remains in me and I in him.” In the Eucharist, Christ does not merely walk beside us; he enters into us. He joins himself to our weakness, our suffering, and our daily struggles. Because he lives in us, he takes on our part when following him becomes costly. We never suffer alone. Our crosses are carried from within.

Saul’s blindness becomes the doorway to a new way of seeing. Once Christ claims him as his own, Saul is no longer acting for God from the outside, but with God from within. he becomes an instrument because he now lives in communion.

The Eucharist forms us in the same way. Christ draws us into his life so that his strength becomes our strength, his love becomes our love, and his presence sustains us. We are in him, and he is in us.

Prayer:

O loving Jesus, I give myself to you. May my talents and gifts be used by you to bring God’s Kingdom to your people. Let your will be done through my words and actions. Amen.
