Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

God’s love: The Gift that keeps on Giving

Saint Peter Julian Eymard interpreted the message of John 3:16-18 as God’s love in giving his Son for the world’s salvation through the lens of the Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament. He saw the Eucharist as the continuation and tangible proof of this divine love.

The Eucharist as the Gift of Love (John 3:16): Saint Peter Julian Eymard viewed the Eucharist as God’s great love, where he gives himself to people, calling it the “divine sacrament of love”. He believed Jesus gives himself completely in the Blessed Sacrament to prevent us from being lonely or “orphaned”.

A Personal Invitation to Salvation (John 3:17): Saint Peter Julian Eymard focused on Jesus as the “Good Shepherd” and “Divine Consoler” in the Eucharist, who does not condemn but constantly invites, forgetting our sins and focusing on joy when we visit him.

On this feast of the Most Holy Trinity, we are reminded that the Church teaches that God’s mercy extends widely, offering forgiveness and mercy to all through the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever and ever. Amen.
