“Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” But what if we don’t see the Father in someone or some event?
How many of us have found ourselves in situations where we have witnessed lying, lack of hospitality, bad intentions in a person, or where someone has taken from us in our home or job?
Where is the Father?
It is in those situations where we need to look hard inside ourselves. Let us not forget that we are creators. We hold the Father in us. We must find the Father in ourselves and have faith. Let us remember, even in times of trouble, the Father may be well hidden in others…But he is still there.
Sometimes the actions of others require more prayer, especially for those who have been harmed. So, if the Father can’t be seen in that someone, then show that someone the Father in you.
Jesus told the apostles to go out and spread the word of the Lord. Paul and Barnabas did just that and angered the Jews. Rumors of persecution bubbled, so they did as Jesus said and “shook the dust from their feet in protest against them and went….”
In the words of Saint Peter Julian Eymard, “The Holy Eucharist is like a divine storehouse filled with every virtue; God has placed it in the world so that everyone may draw from it.”
Let Us Pray:
Dear Lord, help us to find the Father in everyone. Help us reveal our divine storehouse to others, especially those who need it most.
