Daily Eucharistic Reflections

June 2, 2025

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

There is a powerful movement stirring in the Church today. Across the world, hearts are awakening with a hunger for truth, beauty, and the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. This Easter, millions returned to the Catholic Church, not only as converts but as witnesses to a deeper revival. In the Archdiocese of Los Angeles alone, 5,587 new Catholics were welcomed. Lives are being transformed, families are renewing, parishes are coming alive, and adoration chapels are filling. Confession lines are growing. This is more than a statistic; it’s the Holy Spirit at work. A revival is here, and the Church is rising.

Today’s gospel recalls the Beatitudes: Christ’s invitation to live with humility, mercy, and peace. Pope Francis, whose legacy we cherish, brought the gospel to life by loving the poor, comforting the sick, and embracing the marginalized. He didn’t just preach mercy, he lived it. He showed us how to be Eucharistic witnesses, meeting others with the same love Christ offers us.

Saint Peter Julian Eymard would rejoice in this revival. His life’s mission was to help others encounter Jesus in the Eucharist, and that mission is bearing fruit. When people meet Christ there, their lives change.

This month, as we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi in the heart of San Antonio, we’re reminded that the Eucharist is not just a ritual; it is the living heart of Jesus. The Corpus Christi Procession, Christ carried through our streets, proclaims His real presence to the world. It is a public act of love and reverence, a powerful witness that Christ walks with us, offering hope and healing. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, may we, like Pope Francis and St. Peter Julian Eymard, draw near the altar, inviting others to do the same.

Let Us Pray:

Holy Spirit, help us hunger for what you desire. Let us bring others who thirst to the table of mercy, where Jesus joyfully waits for us all. Amen.
