“The Holy Eucharist is Jesus, past, present and future. It is Jesus in his sacramental state!” (Eymard, General Preaching 356,1). Doing the Eucharist entails embracing the divine virtues of the Eucharist and generously leading souls to the fountain of love through deeds and actions. Eucharistic actions that restore human dignity and direct believers to a high reverential form of worship of the Eucharistic Lord. “Oh, blessed is the soul who walks Jesus’ way of perfection by the way of royal love.” (Eymard, Preaching to diverse groups, 22).

Such disposition ignites the spiritual flame within, setting the tone for a living dynamism and nurturing an eucharistic personality that flows from the Eucharist and returns to the Eucharist. The level of contemplation must match the level of action in creation balance and maturity. Building the foundation of a eucharistic spirituality consists of embracing the eucharist in all its dimensions and aspects, and humbly serving to spread love, joy, compassion, and justice. It is holding on to the gift of God’s divine revelation, bringing about communion-union with God and with one another.

Our being eucharist emanates from our baptismal call to be Jesus’ disciple. We are transfigured into his own identity to become his reflection in our time. This is the perfect expression of our silent adoration, our spiritual elevation, and the embodiment of the eucharist as a life-giving source of hope for all.
