A Eucharist-Themed Essay in Paintings

Editor’s Note: Emmanuel Magazine is pleased to present for the pleasure and Lenten contemplation of its readers a Eucharist-themed essay in paintings drawn from the works of the internationally-acclaimed priest and artist, Rev. Peter William Gray, S.S., Ph.D. The Baltimore-based Father Gray, a member of the USA Province of the Society of Saint Sulpice, has built a decades-long career of linking the sacramental and artistic traditions of the Catholic Church. He reveals through his works the extraordinary power of Christ’s presence in the world through the most ordinary of media and processes. From the sale of his art, which centers largely on religious portraiture, Father Gray maintains a small mission in Nepal.
